Find the right Slack workspace name for Franz

Slack workspaces use their own workspace address, usually in the form your-workspace.slack.com. Franz needs only the workspace name before Slack can show the normal sign-in flow.

Enter the workspace name, not the full domain

When Franz asks for the workspace, enter the workspace part you normally see before .slack.com in the browser address bar. Do not enter the full Slack domain, a channel URL, an invitation URL, or the email address you use for Slack.

For example, if Slack opens at acme.slack.com, enter only acme when adding the Slack service in Franz. Entering acme.slack.com can break the service because Franz adds the Slack domain itself.

Fix workspace-not-found errors

If Slack says the workspace cannot be found, check the spelling of the workspace name and remove any .slack.com suffix from the Franz field. Some organizations use Enterprise Grid or a custom sign-in page, but the workspace name still comes from the Slack address used by that organization.

If you only know the email address, use Slack's own workspace lookup in a browser first, then copy the workspace address into Franz.

Add one Franz service per Slack workspace

For multiple Slack workspaces, add each workspace as its own Slack service in Franz. Switching workspaces inside one Slack session can work, but separate Franz services keep notifications, unread counts, and workspace identity clearer. This also makes it easier to pin different teams into different Franz workspaces.

Separate Slack services are useful when Slack is only one part of your workday and each workspace needs its own unread state.

Complete SSO and organization prompts

If your company manages Slack sign-in through single sign-on, complete the browser redirect shown by Slack and return to Franz when the session finishes. Organization policies can require re-authentication from time to time, and Franz cannot extend the session lifetime set by your Slack administrator.
